Installing and configuring DVD::Rip

Installation

sudo apt-get install dvdrip xvid4conf rar

Make sure you run the libdvdcss4 install script

sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh

Cluster Configuration

Edit -> Preferences -> Cluster options -> Enter the cluster master hostname & deselect “Start cluster control daemon locally”

DVD:Rip settings

  • Clip and Zoom section -> Select preset “Autoadjust, Big frame Size, HQ Resize”
  • Transcode section -> Configure the Video codec -> Under General Settings -> Select VHQ preset 4 – Wide Search. You can now save the xvid settings to be used again in the next project.
  • Transcode section -> Video bitrate calculation -> By Quality -> Enter 0.28
  • Now click “Add to Cluster”
